AQUILLA ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTS MR. DAVID EDISON AS SUPERINTENDENT FOR THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR!
David Edison, AISD’s Assistant Superintendent, has been chosen by the Board of Trustees to replace retiring superintendent, Mr. James Gwaltney. David Edison graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors of Science in Education in 2000. He again graduated in 2003 with his Masters in Educational Administration. Currently, Mr. Edison is completing the requirements for a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Mr. Edison taught for three years at La Vega ISD, then spent an additional three years serving as their Assistant Principal prior to his employment with Aquilla ISD. Now, Mr. Edison is ready for the newest chapter in his career of education.

Texas Education Agency announced that AQUILLA ISD has been selected to receive the Title 1, Part A, Distinguished Performance Award for 2009-2010. This award is given to Title 1 schools for outstanding academic performance. Last year Aquilla ISD won the Distinguished Progress Award due to the academic progress made over the past few years. Way to go Aquilla Cougars!
